Khmer Stars Sing for Khmer Children in Australia

Radio Australia covered the Healthcare Center for Children in Cambodia's first fund raising concert held in Melbourne, Australia.

The third annual charity concert in Melbourne performed by Cambodian pop stars attracted more than 500 people, mostly Cambodians.

A series of concerts, organized by the Save the Cambodian Children Fund in Australia, allow Cambodian communities in Australia the opportunity to support the cause.

Proceeds will go towards supporting the programs, including healthcare, vocational skills training and education, implemented by the Healthcare Center for Children in Cambodia.

The center offers shelter to about 80 vulnerable children under the age of 18.

Poverty in Cambodia is driving many vulnerable children and women to sex trafficking and labour exploitation.

This year's concerts bring a mixture of pop and folk artists, including Kim Leakhena, San Ranuth, Chan Samay and Snguon Srey Nuch, who are touring Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide where the majority of Cambodians are located.
