National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents rescued at least 40 girls from a human trafficking syndicate in a raid on two apartments in Metro Manila.
Radio dzBB reported that as of 10 p.m., NBI's anti-human trafficking division was transporting the 40 "rescued" girls to NBI main headquarters in Manila.
As of posting time, it was not clear whether arrests were made during the raid and where it was conducted.
According to the report, the raid stemmed from a complaint by five victims who managed to escape from their “captors" a few days ago.
