Consultation Meeting on the Structure of the National Taskforce in Cambodia

May 16, 2007

The New National Taskforce in Cambodia to implement MOUs on Human Trafficking was launched on 6 April 2007 at the Cambodianna Hotel in Phnom Penh. The decision to create the new National Taskforce was signed by His Excellency Prime Minister Hun Sen on the 12 March 2007.

The National Task Force heralds a new approach in dealing with trafficking in Cambodia.  Funded by the CTIP Program, using a streamlined model based on three working groups in the areas of prevention, protection and reintegration and prosecution, NGOs and Government will share the responsibility and jointly determine the agenda of the respective working groups.

See attached the decision signed by His Excellency Prime Minister Hun Sen on the 12 March.
