ILO Project to Prevent Trafficking in Girls and Young Women for Labour Exploitation within China (CP-TING)

In April 2004, ILO implemented a project – in collaboration with the All-China Women’s Federation, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Ministry of Public Security, and a range of other ministries and representatives from Anhui, Guangdong, Henan, Hunan and Jiangsu Province – to primarily focus on the most vulnerable group – girls and young women at risk of trafficking for labour exploitation within China.

The project has three major objectives as follows:

  • mobilized key stakeholders effectively to prevent trafficking in girls and young women for labour exploitation.
  • in place integrated, effective and sustainable responses to trafficking in girls and young women for labour exploitation in both sending and receiving areas – and which can serve as models
  • strengthened national and sub-national policy frameworks and implementation capacity to prevent trafficking in girls and young women for labour exploitation.
    The life of the project is four years.
