An Amicus Brief was filed on Friday, 9 December 2005 by the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women and Equality Now on behalf of 19 groups around the world that work with women in the commercial sex industry, many of whom are survivors of prostitution and sex trafficking.
While the case at hand is the Alliance for Open Society Inc. et al v. United States Agency for International Development, this Amicus Brief was prepared in direct response to an amicus brief submitted by the ACLU in the same case, which contends that organizations opposing prostitution cannot do effective outreach to "sex workers."
