Dear Friend in the Fight to Abolish Modern-Day Slavery,
Yesterday, President George W. Bush signed the 2005 Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act in a ceremony that once again brought individuals together from all political stripes and walks of life. Many of these dedicated individuals have spent their careers working to bring justice to the oppressed and an end to human trafficking.
This new law sends a powerful message to the crime rings and pimps who profit from the sale of human life. Our efforts to end the demand for commercial sex at home will galvanize our work abroad. There is much more to be done and we will complete the task. With this victory, we rededicate ourselves to the cause, for the victims that have passed on and for those who live to tell their story, so that all people can be free.
ABOLITION!
