A New Web site is Launched in Asia
September 2004
The Asia Foundation launched an anti-trafficking Web site to promote information sharing and linkages among counter-trafficking NGOs.
The Asia Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of a new multi-lingual anti-trafficking in persons Web site for Cambodia and Thailand. The web portal, www.tipinasia.info, is intended to serve as a consolidated access point for counter-trafficking NGOs, government officials, and other organizations in Cambodia and across the region to find and share critical information on human trafficking. The contents of the Cambodia site include:
- A resource directory of counter-trafficking local and international NGOs, governmental institutions and UN agencies in Cambodia and Thailand.
- A laws and regulations page containing the laws and regulations and relevant bilateral agreements and international conventions related to trafficking in persons.
- A case studies page featuring prominent case studies of human trafficking in Cambodia collected from various NGOs.
- An activities page featuring human trafficking-related events and activities calendar of NGOs and institutions working in this area.
- A documents page, which contains documents covering subjects such as human rights, human trafficking, gender, violence against women and children, and migration.
- An interesting Web-board room, where users can create trafficking-related topics for discussions and express their personal opinions or those of their organizations.
