Laos and Thailand have agreed to form the first bilateral policy to combat human trafficking.
Acting Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Mr Leka Kanya, and 11 senior officials will meet with the Thai Minister for Social Development and Human Security, Mr Pracha Maleenont, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation to Combat Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children, between Laos and Thailand in Bangkok on 13 July. The MOU will commit Laos and Thailand to joint action, including establishing joint working groups to run operations to combat human trafficking.2
