Child Shelter in Northern Thailand Hit by Small Tornado

Ban Nana is an independent organization which works with street children, beggars, child-laborers, abused children, orphans, the physically and mentally ill, those with little or no opportunities, and those that have been sold or do not have citizenship rights. There are more than eighty children aged 4–18 years in the care of the shelter. These children live a very basic lifestyle.

On 25 May 2005, the shelter was hit by small tornado which destroyed some the buildings. Now, the children do not have a roof over their head, clean water because the water tank fell during the tornado, or books and uniforms to go to school. Some of the books and uniforms are wet and some were washed away by the water. Please find a document below for more details.

Ban Nana is seeking urgent assistance regarding housing materials and financial aid.
