Ivan-Smith, Edda.
This report was undertaken as part of the International Save the Children Alliance, Southeast, East Asia and Pacific Region Regional Advocacy Plan and presents the findings of a comparative study of the relevant legal provisions of the six countries in the Mekong sub-region (i.e., Cambodia, Lao PDR, China, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar) concerning trafficking in women and children. It should be read together with the Advocacy Paper on Comparative Laws of the Countries in the Mekong Sub-region. Government agencies and non-governmental organizations working to combat trafficking in the Region may find the Study useful as a resource material on the basic legal concepts and instruments relevant to their work.
