This book will show a glimps of the widespread sex industry in Korea, an outline of the current Anti-Sex Trafficking Law, and the movement against sex trafficking. It also has various case studies of assistance that Dasi Hamkke Center has carried out. This is probably the first book ever that explores the realities of the Korean sex trafficking issues written from the field that is translated in English.
This book is to document the Korean women’s experience in the movement against sex trafficking. It shows how Dasi Hamkke Center, a new experiment of government and NGO collaboration, views sex trafficking and prostitution. It also shows the many efforts and results of assistance provided for victims/survivors of sex trafficking. It also clearly describes the women’s stories and the situations they faced inside the sex industry. It is important to expose the dark side of sex industry and the abusive system so that there are no more human rights violations and victims of sex trade in the future.
