NYEMO Cambodia Organization is a Cambodian non-governmental organization established in early 1998, which works to improve the quality of life of vulnerable women and their children by strengthening and empowering them with the partnership of all stakeholders in the society.
NYEMO Cambodia Organization aims to facilitate the establishment of small scale reintegration programs for vulnerable people through linking existing resources and building a sustainable social and economic safety net. NYEMO Cambodia Organization provides extensive rehabilitation and vocational training for victims of human trafficking, including counseling and preventative education for victims.
NYEMO Cambodia Organization runs a drop-in center for pregnant women, or women with one or more children, who are marginalized and isolated by society. The drop-in center provides support services and assists in socio-economic reintegration. NYEMO Cambodia Organization does this with the support of a local network and using local resources.
The women who come to the drop-in center that are pregnant and/or accompanied by children have access to:
NEYMO Cambodia Organization has Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with three Government ministries:
- MoSVY: Ministry of Social Affairs Veteran and Youth Rehabilitation
- MoH: Ministry of Health
- MoWVA: Ministry of Women and Verteran Affairs
NYEMO is a commercial wing of NYEMO Cambodia Organization (Cambodian non-governmental organization). It started at the same time as NYEMO Cambodia Organization in early 1998, which aims to generate profit to support the vulnerable women attending its vocation trainings. All profits are used to support the programs of NYEMO Cambodia Organization.
NYEMO has been involved with the restaurant and handicraft sectors for several years. It opened its first restaurant and handicraft boutique in Phnom Penh in 1998, second handicraft boutique in Russian Market in 2003, and third handicraft boutique in Siem Reap in 2004.
NYEMO currently operates the following commercial businesses in Cambodia:
- Khmer Traditional Hand-Woven Silk and Handicrafts Boutique
- Workshop (Special Order Services)
- Asian and European Restaurant
- Accommodation (Guesthouse).
