Activities

LSCW aims to prevent and eliminate all forms of human trafficking and abuse as well as discrimination of children and women in Cambodia.  LSCW is committed to legally protecting, assisting and supporting all persons trafficked, abused, including Cambodian migrant workers in destination countries, through existing legal mechanisms, and to gain recognition of and respect for their rights. 

Goal: 
For vulnerable groups to enjoy increased access to justice and basic human rights through transparent legal mechanisms.

Overall Objectives:
Prevention, protection, prosecution and assistance to men, women, children and migrants in crisis that helps solve human trafficking and abuse cases.

Current Activities:

  • LSCW provides the following legal support and services free of charge: Legal consultation/advice and legal court representation, including research, investigation and preparation of cases for prosecution.
  • LSCW provides legal training to local authorities (including commune council members and chief villagers), teachers and related government agencies and NGOs/IOs partners.
  • LSCW provides information on safe and legal migration to potential migrants
  • LSCW disseminates information on legal rights (including labour and migrant rights) at destination countries to Cambodian migrant communities in Klong Yai District (Thailand)
  • Target groups include men (victims of human trafficking only), women, children, potential migrants and migrants in crisis
  • Target areas in Cambodia include: Phnom Penh, Koh Kong, Prey Veng, Kampong Cham, Kampot, Takeo, Kampong Speu and Kandal.  Target areas in Thailand include: Klong Yai
