Through research, grants to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and partnerships with the private and public sectors, The Asia Foundation in Mongolia is working to promote justice, accountability, and prosperity.

Key program areas include:

  • Combating corruption -To reduce and deter corruption in the public and private sectors, the Foundation promotes legal and regulatory reform, institutional capacity-building for government and non-governmental organizations, and public education to engage the public in combating corruption.
  • Human trafficking and Domestice Violence -  Prevention, protection, and prosecution are core elements of the anti-trafficking and domestic violence projects. The Asia Foundation is increasing awareness and engagement among government and law enforcement officials, the media, NGOs, and civil society as a whole.

Many programs of The Asia Foundation in Mongolia have been carried out with support from the U.S. government and from bilateral and multilateral donors.

In April 2006 the Asia Foundation organized a Counter-Trafficking Training and Coordination seminar with government and civil society organizations. The goal was to build a partnership to combat trafficking and to improve prevention, protection and prosecution according to Mongolian and international laws.
