The Coalition Against Human Trafficking works to increase community awareness of human trafficking and coordinate the identification, assistance and protection of victims through community education, advocacy, provision of culturally and linguistically sensitive victim services, and efforts to ensure the investigation and prosecution of human traffickers.
The Coalition is open to service providers, law enforcement, attorneys, advocates, government agencies, and other interested community members.
At the request of the YMCA International Services' Trafficked Persons Assistance Program, the Office of Community Projects (OCP), Graduate School of Social Work, University of Houston conducted an assessment of Houston's services to victims of human trafficking.
YMCA International Services has an OVC grant to provide direct services to victims of trafficking, train law enforcement, provide community education and outreach, and facilitate the Coalition Against Human Trafficking. We can assist pre certified and certified victims of trafficking with comprehensive services and intensive case management.
