FFW is an NGO working on the issue of violence against women and other development/social issues as they relate to women. FFW provides information, support, referral, and emergency financial assistance to women who have been victims of exploitation, violence and trafficking. FFW works with villagers in the North and Northeast to oppose coerced prostitution and domestic violence. FFW offers small-scale credit schemes for alternative economic projects and conducts research on international migration and trafficking, adolescent sexuality, and domestic violence.
With regards to trafficking, FFW undertakes the following activities:
In 2006, FFW has launched a program called Partners in Action: Reclaiming the Rights of Trafficked Women and Children whereby they are inviting applicants, through a proposal process, to visit Thailand for two months and collaborate with FFW to assist trafficked women and children. The selected representatives from Burma, Laos, and Cambodia will join FFW's team in conducting activities in IDCs in Bangkok and border provinces to identify trafficked women and children who need further assistance.
