Activities

FACE monitors the cases of arrested paedophiles to try to ensure that prosecution occurs and that appropriate judicial and law enforcement processes are followed. FACE coordinates with law enforcement officers and trains them on current MOUs regarding human rights treatment of child victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation. FACE assists in obtaining evidence, especially from the victimized children if necessary. FACE also works with other NGOs and government agencies. FACE also attempts to get back wages for victims of trafficking and labor abuse.

In 2002-2003, the US State Department partially funded FACE’s operations to prepare casework and offer legal aid in order to achieve prosecutions and convictions of pedophiles, both foreign and Thai. It also trained police and advocates with policy makers and legislators to improve TIP laws and regulations. The funding covered staff salaries, office operational expenses, documentation, and travel expenses for social workers.
