CATW Australia is a human rights nongovernmental organization that works internationally and nationally to oppose all forms of sexual violence and exploitation of women, especially the violence of prostitution, trafficking and pornography. CATW has Category II Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
CATW promotes recognition that all forms of trafficking and sexual exploitation, including trafficking in women, prostitution, pornography, mail order bride selling, incest and rape, are an abuse of universal human rights. They do this through participation in international conferences, publications, and their involvement with the United Nations. They clearly take a stand that all forms of prostitution, whether voluntary or involuntary, are exploitative to women and men, and that legalizing prostitution is not the answer for preventing trafficking in women and girls for prostitution.
