China National Plan of Action on Combating Trafficking in Women and Children (2008-2012) On December 13, 2007, the Government of China agreed upon the China National Plan of Action on Combating Trafficking in Women and Children (2008-2012). The Plan of Action has been developed in order to: effectively prevent and severely combat the criminal activities of trafficking in women and children, actively provide assistance and give appropriate aftercare to rescued women and children, earnestly safeguard the legal rights and interests of women and children.
Statistical Methods for Estimating the Number of Trafficking Victims In 2007, UNIAP launched a competition in which NGOs, academics, and government and non-government research institutions were invited to submit proposals for innovative, rigorous methodologies to estimate the numbers of trafficking victims in a given geographic area and/or industry.
