Child Welfare Act

Article 16 (Kinds of Child Welfare Facilities):
(1) Kinds of child welfare facilities are as follows:
- Child rearing facilities: facility with a purpose of protecting and rearing the children requiring protection by committing them therein;
- Temporary protection facilities for children: facility with the purpose of temporarily protecting the children requiring protection, and devising a plan for future rearing and taking protective measures for children;
- Protection and treatment facilities for children: facility with the purpose of committing those children therein who indulge in delinquent acts or are likely to commit such acts, and who are without any protector, or for whom a person with parental power or a protector has applied for his being committed therein, or who are entrusted for protection by the Court of Family Affairs, a district court and a juvenile branch court, and lead them into the right path and thereby foster them into the sound members of society;
- Vocational training facilities for children: facility with a purpose of enabling the children aged 15 or older committed in a child welfare facility and the children of poor families to acquire the knowledge and skill required.
