Migration Act 1958, Amendment 1999, (Cth), Division 12

This part of the Act covers entry into and remaining in Australia. See in particular s.232A. It covers the penalties incurred for illegally bringing groups of non-citizens into Australia; i.e.: people smuggling. It increases the maximum penalty for an offence under this section to 20 years imprisonment or 2,000 penalty units.
