Event Details

The Women’s Studies Committee of South Texas College in McAllen, Texas is hosting a conference to address the realities of the human sex trafficking trade. Admission to the conference is free. 

The goals of the conference are to raise awareness about the pervasiveness of the sex trafficking business, to explore the deeper causes of sex trafficking, and ultimately, to take part in the larger international conversation about how to stop this crime.

Several featured speakers:

  • Vanessa Garza, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families.
  • Marisa Ugarte, Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition (BSCC), San Diego
