The Policy Research Institute for the Region at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the Vera Institute of Justice will host "Marshaling Every Resource" a major colloquium on state and local responses to human trafficking. It is my pleasure to invite you and your colleagues to attend.
After years of intervention concentrated at the federal level, states and localities are increasingly seen as the primary agents for combating trafficking. To date, however, there has been little inquiry into the dynamics surrounding state and local level responses to human trafficking: how they come about, what they look like, and how they work. With this conference, we hope to begin to address this research gap with a look at the experiences of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The conference will feature the presentation of original research by leading scholars in the field, including Rutgers University's James Finckenauer and Daniel Tichenor, and Northeastern University's Amy Farrell, as well as commentary by noted activists and practitioners like Free the Slaves' Kevin Bales and Deputy Attorney General Linda Rinaldi of New Jersey.
The conference will also be webcast live, with a special online discussion forum in which viewers will be able to ask questions of the speakers in real-time.
