The United States Department of Justice is hosting the second National Conference on Human Trafficking in New Orleans, LA from October 3-5, 2006. The conference will bring together a diverse audience of law enforcement officers, victim advocates, justice professionals, and faith-based and community organizations to discuss the complex issues surrounding human trafficking and to collaborate on strategies to help reduce and prevent Human Trafficking in the future.
Conference participants will hear from anti-trafficking experts including prominent researchers, state and local practitioners, and officials from various federal agencies. The conference will examine research and statistics surrounding human trafficking crimes; improve the ability to identify and neutralize trafficking enterprises; enhance response to trafficking victims; and disseminate methods to prevent human trafficking operations from taking root in our communities. This conference will also be a great opportunity to share ideas and experiences with professionals from across the country.
