Pusat Kajian dan Perlindungan Anak (PKPA)/Center for Study and Child Protection will hold the “Southeast Asia Conference on Trafficking in Children for Sexual Purposes” in Medan, North Sumatera, Indonesia, on 28-30 March 2004. The conference will be attended by approximately 350 participants from within and outside Indonesia, especially from Southeast Asian countries.
The goals of the Conference include identifying the forms, leading factors and magnitude of problem of the trafficking in children in Southeast Asian countries, sharing best practices conducted by NGOs, GOs and other related parties in combating trafficking in children for sexual purposes in Southeast Asia, identifying regional potencies which can be used to combat the trafficking in children in Southeast Asia and formulating possible forms of partnership cooperation to be taken by NGOs and GOs in Southeast Asian countries in combating the trafficking in children for the period of five years following the conference.
