Throughout the months of June and July 2006, the Healthcare Centre for Children (HCC) and Save the Children Australia (HCC's Australian Support network) will hold the 4th Annual Australian Charity Concerts.
HCC provides support to young women and children who are vulnerable to trafficking, and sexual and labor exploitation. Through the ‘Good Day Centre,’ HCC is able to provide practical support for over 100 vulnerable children each year. In addition to supporting basic needs the centre also provides healthcare, counseling, educational support, vocational training, and social and economic development to ensure that each of these children can look forward to a bright future. All money raised through this year’s charity concerts will go towards supporting the ongoing work of HCC in helping poor and unfortunate children and families.
Four well-know Cambodian entertainers will tour Australia. The Director of HCC says that the fund raising concert is a part of HCC's strategy for its long-term survival. The concert allows HCC not just to raise funds and sell products made by children at the shelter, but it also allows HCC to be exposed to the Cambodian-Australian community, allowing them to support the work they do in Cambodia.
