GAATW was formed as a result of the International Workshop on Migration and Traffic in Women in 1994 (Chiang Mai, Thailand).
International Labor Organization (ILO) / Mekong Sub-Regional Project to Combat Trafficking in Children and Women (Thailand Country Office)
The project works with two main government bodies: the Ministry of Labour (MOL) and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS).
International Organization for Migration (IOM)
In order to act against trafficking, IOM takes a multi-pronged approach to help prevent trafficking, mainly in the country of origin, and to assist and protect victims.
Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)
Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) proactively supports the programmes of ECPAT ( End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes) and Child Wise Tourism in Southeast Asia.
The Asia Foundation
Since 2002, The Asia Foundation has developed a multi-disciplinary, inter-agency approach to anti-trafficking in persons that promotes cooperation among the police, government agencies, and NGOs.
UNICEF Thailand
UNICEF supports programs in Thailand (and the Greater Mekong Sub-Region) which overlap on the prevention aspects of trafficking.
World Vision Foundation of Thailand (WVFT)
World Vision is currently implementing a regional anti-trafficking project that covers Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
