National Commission for Mother and Child
The National Commission for Mothers and Children (NCMC) oversees child-related affairs on education, well-being and protection. The NCMC was established in March 1992 to prepare and oversee the implementation of the Lao PDR Program of Action for children.

Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MLSW)
The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MLSW) has a unit devoted to children with special needs, including protection of trafficking victims and prevention of trafficking.
Ministry of Public Security Lao PDR
In September 2004 the Ministry of Public Security prohibited the practice of fining returning trafficking victims for illegal border crossing, and the Law on Women also prohibits the practice.
